Do you want to build AI systems that reach millions of users?
At Matas Group’s Core AI team, we build production-grade AI systems that power customer conversations, automate content creation, and enable personalized experiences for more than 5 million loyalty members across the Nordics.
You’ll join a small and highly skilled team working hands-on with generative AI, taking ideas from prototype to production and deploying solutions that create real impact across our retail ecosystem.
What you will work on
As a Generative AI Engineer, you will design and build AI applications used both by customers and internally across the business.
Examples of products you may work on:
• Customer AI assistant, a generative AI chatbot supporting customers across web and mobile
• Retail knowledge assistant – an internal AI tool helping store staff access knowledge instantly
• AI content engine – automated generation of product descriptions and marketing content
Your responsibilities will include:
• Deploying scalable AI systems into production
• Building AI-powered applications and services
• Developing backend components and APIs in Python
• Prototyping new AI solutions and quickly testing ideas
• Designing data pipelines and AI workflows (Pandas / SQL / PySpark)
Technology environment
Our stack evolves quickly as the AI landscape moves fast, but examples of technologies we work with include:
· Python
· LLM APIs (e.g. OpenAI / Gemini)
· RAG architectures
· Vector databases
· Data pipelines (Pandas, SQL, PySpark)
· Cloud-based AI infrastructure
Curiosity and experimentation with new technologies are key in this role.
About you
You enjoy building practical AI systems and turning ideas into working products.
You likely have:
• 3+ years of experience building ML or AI solutions end-to-end
• Experience deploying models or AI applications into production
• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or similar
• A strong interest in generative AI and modern AI architectures
A GitHub profile with personal AI or ML projects is considered a strong plus.

The Core AI team is responsible for building and scaling AI capabilities across the Matas Group. We work closely with product teams, developers and data engineers to create AI solutions that are used across multiple countries and business areas.
Our focus is simple: build AI that works in production and creates real value.
